This hands-on experience offers a rare opportunity to work with molten glass from the furnace. After an introductory talk on the important aspects of safety, get acquainted with the equipment and learn about the techniques you will need. After lunch (not included), start to apply the techniques learned in the morning to a piece of glass by making a paperweight, work with hot glass, gather it from the furnace to shape it and apply colour. Later in the afternoon there will be an introduction to glass blowing techniques. If you wish to keep your piece, it can be annealed overnight, cut and posted for a fee of £20.
