Availability: Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year, with occasional weekend dates (subject to availability due to match schedules). Weather: Polo is rarely cancelled due to bad weather. Duration: This experience usually starts at around 10am and ends around 4pm, but please call the centre a day or two before the event to confirm your attendance, and at what exact time the lesson will begin. Numbers On Day: There'll be up to four people taking part, with enough instructors to ensure lots of individual attention. Spectators: Spectators are welcome at the club and can watch play from the grandstands. Dogs are allowed, provided they are well behaved and kept on a lead. Dress Code: Dress warmly and comfortably. Wear jodhpurs if you have them. Bring riding boots or a pair of substantial shoes or boots with a low, solid heel (no high heels!). Bring a pair of thin leather or cotton gloves and a riding hat if you have them. Guidelines: Exit M25 at junction 11 and follow signs to A320 Woking, then A319 Chobham. In Chobham, turn right at the T junction onto B383, turn left onto Steep Hill and left again onto Woodcock Lane. The club is immediately right at the end of the lane. Alternatively exit the M3 at junction 3, taking A322 Lightwater then A319 Chobham, once there follow directions as above. The polo grounds are on the opposite side of the road to the yard and offices. Restrictions: Minimum age is 6. Minimum height is 5'. Minimum weight is 6 stone, maximum 20 stone. Please let us know when booking if you weigh more than 15 stone, so we can ensure a suitable horse is available. Suitable for experienced riders and complete novices. Other Info: The rules of the game dictate all players must use the polo stick with their right hand (even the left-handers!).

Begin with a briefing on the fundamental rules and theory of the sport by expert polo instructors. Next, get a chance to practice aspects of the game such as polo riding, ball hitting, hooking and riding off, all of which will be explained on the day. Then mount a mechanical horse to master basic swings before jumping on a pony to take part in a 'stick and ball' session. After your training it's time to change into official polo gear and mount your horse to put your newfound skills to the test as you both play an instructional chukka. You are welcome to stay for the remainder of the day and watch full matches being played.
