Founded in 1093, this magnificent Norman cathedral is the shrone of St Cuthbert and one of the great architectural experiences in Europe. Together with the adjacent castle, it is a World Heritage site.

Cathedral Opening Times & Prices

Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 6.15pm, Sun 12.30pm - 5pm, extended summer opening 31 May - 5 Sept 9.30am - 8pm.

Admission free though donations requested.

Cathedral Tours Times & Prices

17 April - 25 Sept at 11am and 2.30pm, Monday - Friday 12 - 16 April (easter week), 31 May - 4 June (Half Term), 19 July - 24 Sept at 11am and 2.30pm. Evening Tours 17 July - 29 Aug Saturday at 6.15pm and Sunday 5pm.

Adult £3.50, accompanied children under 16 free, Concessions £2.50.

Tower Opening Times & Prices

12 April - 25 Sept 10am - 4pm (last entry 3.40pm), rest of year open 10am - 3pm (last entry 2.40pm), closed Sundays during services/events and inclement weather.

Adult £2.50, Child £1.50, Family ticket £7.00.

Monday - Saturday 10am - 4.30pm, Sunday 2pm - 4.30pm (Sunday in Dec and Jan 2pm-4.15pm).
