You can find Cudmore Grove at the eastern end of Mersea Island, with fine views across the Colne and Blackwater estuaries. Come and walk the sea wall, explore the shore and watch for wildlife. Behind the sandy beach is an area of cliff top and grassland providing a tranquil open landscape for picnics, flying kites and other outdoor activities.

How to find us:

By car: Follow the B1025 for 10 miles south of Colchester and Mersea Island and take the left hand fork to East Mersea for three miles. The country park is at the end of Bromans Lane. The route is well signposted.

Opening Times:

8.00 am until dusk, daily.

Parking:

Ample parking available. Pay and display, 1 hour or less £1, all-day £2.

Facilities:

Bird Hide. Toilets. Light refreshments in summer on Sundays. Information room situated in the car park. Open every day. Displays and leaflets about the park. Wildside walk pack available here.

Access:

A flat site with fine views and easy walking ground mostly accessible by wheelchair. Disabled parking bays. Toilets for disabled access.

Events:

Series of events throughout the year including guided walks. Rangers are available to lead guided walks and talks for organised groups by request.

Education:

School groups welcome by arrangement.
