An architectural masterpiece of the 13th to 16th centuries, Westminster Abbey also presents a unique pageant of British history. Westminster Abbey, a work of architectural genius, a place of daily worship, deploying the resources of high musical expertise, a burial place of kings, statesmen, poets, scientists, warriors and musicians, is the result of a process of development across the centuries, which represents the response of a monastery and later a post-Reformation church to the stimulus and challenge of its environment.

Verger-led tours of the Abbey are available for individuals or family groups only. They last for approximately 90 minutes and include a tour of the Shrine, the Royal Tombs, Poet's Corner, the Cloisters and the Nave.

Price, £4.00 per person

Verger-led tours commence at the following times:

Summer: April to September

Monday-Friday 1000, 1030, 1100, 1400, 1430

Saturdays 1000, 1030, 1100

Winter: October to March

Monday-Friday 1000, 1100, 1400, 1430

Saturday 1000, 1030, 1100

The Coffee Club operates two stalls at the Abbey, in the North Cloister and on the Sanctuary outside the West Towers of the Abbey. Hot and cold drinks and a range of snacks and sandwiches are available.

The Abbey shop is located outside the West Door as you exit the Abbey. A selection of souvenirs, postcards, books and gifts can be purchased.

Public lavatories are situated in Broad Sanctuary opposite the West Towers of the Abbey. Unfortunately, as the Abbey is an ancient building, there are no public lavatories within the Abbey or Cloisters.
