Astley Hall Museum dates back to Elizabethan times with changes and additions over the centuries, all helping make a visit to the Hall a fascinating and enjoyable experience. This grade I listed building is the jewel in Chorley's crown, with stunning plaster work and architectural features. As the town's museum and art gallery it is also home to items of local historical interest.

As Chorley's War Memorial, the Hall houses a significant collection relating to the Chorley Pals from World War I and also objects from World War II in the Memorial Room. From April 2006 there will be the opportunity to come and find out more about these dedicated men and women. Films relating to more recent events such as the presentation of the Freedom of the Borough of Chorley to the Queen's Lancashire Regiment and the Victory in Europe and Japan Celebrations from July last year will be playing in this room later this year.

The Hall also houses a significant collection of fine art and furniture.

The Hall and Courtyard Tearoom are now open Friday,Saturday and Sunday between 12.00pm and 5.00pm. Please check before you visit on Fridays during the summer as we have some weddings booked in.Check this page soon to find out when they are.

We are open until Sunday 14th October this year.
