Beatrix Potter Gallery Museums
The exhibition of original sketches and watercolours painted by Beatrix Potter for her children's stories changes annually. Also on display are artefacts and information relating to her life and work beyond the 'Tales'. The 17th-century building, the model for Tabitha Twitchit's shop, was once the office of Beatrix's husband, William Heelis. The interior remains substantially unaltered since his day, giving an interesting insight into an Edwardian law office.
What's new this year
Exhibition will feature The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan, celebrating their 100th birthdays. Also an emphasis on Hill Top, the house purchased by Beatrix Potter in 1905. Occasional story reading for families
Admission by timed ticket issued on arrival to all visitors. Open Good Fri.
