The Museum of Garden History was founded in 1977 as the world's first museum dedicated to the history of gardens and gardening. The museum collections fall into 3 main categories; tools, ephemera and library. The tool collection is one of the finest on display. The ephemera collection is an archive that includes prints, photos bills, receipts, catalogues and brochures of the past.

The library collection is housed in the lecture room and is available to by appointment only. It includes historic and contemporary books and catalogues and some of our most precious items are accessioned to the library.

THe Museum of Garden History is open 7 days a week, from 10.30am - 5pm.
