Spanning the River Itchen, this water-powered corn mill was first recorded in the Domesday survey of 1086. Rebuilt in 1744, it remained in use until the turn of the last century and has now been restored to full working order. The waterwheel and machinery turn daily throughout the season and there is something to interest everyone, including awe-inspiring mill-races, hands-on activities for children, a video presentation and displays about the river and its wildlife.

What's new in 2005

Regular flour milling demonstrations. Partnership with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust with displays on the River Itchen. Monthly guided walks to nearby Winnall Moors Nature Reserve.
