Stamford Museum Museums
Seasonal fun awaits you at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. Bring friends and enjoy a picnic on the Meadow, walk over 80 acres of nature trails, drop in to the Heckscher Farm and say hello to the animals, and don't miss the latest exhibition in the Bendel Mansion Museum Galleries.
The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is a place for families. Come discover, learn, and enjoy.
Stamford Museum's upper displays concentrate on the archaeology and social history of the town.
There is a regular programme of temporary exhibitions, which are displayed in the lower galleries together with the Stamford Tapestry. Holiday activities for children are also part of the service. Guided tours of the museum and town are available on specific subjects with prior booking.
The Museum's collections consist of legally harvested specimens that help exhibit the rich variety of life forms, past and present, found in the New England area, as well as those illustrative of our natural habitat. They include mounted animal specimens, bird study skins, bird eggs and nests, insects, rocks, minerals, fossils, herbariums, animal models and natural history prints.
