Amberley Working Museum is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the south-east.

Amberley is also home to a number of resident craftspeople, who work to traditional methods. From a potter and a foundry-man to a clay-pipe maker, Amberley helps to promote and preserve a number of traditional crafts & skills for future generations.

A number of exhibitions cover broader topics with reference to local examples, such as our Connected Earth telecommunications hall, which uses archive film footage from Worthing Telephone Exchange to highlight the broader role of telecommunications, and our EDF electricity hall, which uses exhibits from Southern Electricity & SEEBOARD to educate people. These displays help to provide a greater understanding of some fundamental industrial & technological developments, ranging from the development of the radio to the history of concrete.
