Flitch Way Outdoors
The Flitch Way passes through 15 miles of countryside along the former Bishop's Stortford to Braintree Railway in the heart of rural Essex.
Journey on foot, bicycle or horseback through wildlife rich railway cuttings, past Victorian Stations and over embankments with views across farmlands, nearby villages and woodland.
Rayne Station is situated in Rayne Village, just off the A120, west of Braintree. Rayne station visitor centre is open daily from 9 to 5. Exhibition Room and enquiry desk is open on Sundays 1pm - 4pm. Free parking is available at Rayne Station. Many sections of the Flitch Way provide good access for wheelchair users.
