Hawkstone Historic Park & Follies is a unique place. Centred around the Red Castle and the awe-inspiring Grotto Hill, it offers visitors hours of delight and excitement and stunning views of the Shropshire countryside and beyond. Wander through mysterious woodland of centuries old oaks, the lofty monkey puzzles and wild rhododendrons.

Intricate pathways, ravines, arches and bridges, the towering cliffs and follies, the hermit in his hermitage and King Arthur addressing his troops in the awesome caves combine to create a magical visit that can last around 3. 5 exhilarating hours.

Old Arthurian legend paints a beautiful picture of giants, Tarquin and Tarquinus, who built and inhabited the Red Castle which lies within the tree-clad slopes of the Estate. The legend is further enhanced by the Giant's Well which is reached through an arched passage at the foot of the Cliff. This, together with about 40 feet of the Castle Tower, is hewn out of solid rock.

Hawkstone Park is in Shropshire, between Shrewsbury and Whitchurch, off the A49, and within easy reach of the M6 and M54. To reach the Hotel and Golf Centre, follow brown road signs for Hawkstone Historic Park and Follies, to the centre of the village of Weston-under-Redcastle. .
