National Seal Sanctuary Zoos
Welcome to the National Seal Sanctuary, set in the picturesque Helford Estuary, by the beautiful village of Gweek, in Cornwall. We have over 48 years experience in Seal Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release.
In addition to the Grey and Common Seals, we have Californian and Patagonian Sea Lions. The Sanctuary also provides a much-needed haven for a variety of other animals, such as Otters, Ponies and Goats. Occasionally the Sanctuary's facilities and expertise are called upon to aid in the rescue of other marine creatures such as Dolphins and Turtles.
Our aim is to return all these pups back into the wild, and because of a greater knowledge of how to care for Seals built up over the years, along with improved facilities and medication, our success rate is very good. The Sanctuary is also a permanent home to a community of adult seals, who for various reasons can not be released back into the wild.
Our Resident Grey Seals are :- Magnus (male), Flipper (male), YuleLog (male), Anneka (female), Sheba (female), Lizzie (female), Fatima (female), Snoopy (female), Atlanta (female), Marlin (male) and Ray (male). .
