Situated near the River Shep, the park originally began as a wildlife sanctuary in 1979 for injured birds or mammals. Now wildlife to see includes wolves, fallow deer, red deer, sika deer, red foxes, arctic foxes, wallabies, vervet monkeys, raccoons, prairie dogs, capybara, ponies, parrots, cockatiels, owls, chipmunks, otters and more.
Waterworld and Bug City is the parks new attraction which houses a wide variety of insects and aquatic creatures. Species to see include praying mantis, giant millipedes, stick insects, tropical frogs, locusts, scorpions, tarantulas, fruit beetles and butterflies. Among the aquatic species are stingrays, water bugs, puffer fish, sturgeon, catfish, crayfish crabs and seahorses.
Other attractions include the fish farm, pets corner, Adventure fort, pony rides during the Summer, souvenir and toy shop, toddlers play area with sandpit, children's playroom, cafe, picnic areas and bags of food for feeding the fish and farm animals.
