Situated near the small village of Twycross, the zoo occupies over 40 acres and is set in open countryside. Despite its rural location, it is only four miles from the M42/A42 (which links the M1 and M6) making it readily accessible from anywhere in central England.

Amongst the animals to be found at Twycross Zoo are:

Red Bellied Lemur (Eulemur rubriventer)

Goeldi's Monkey (Callimico goeldii)

Black Howler Monkey (Alouatta caraya)

Kloss Gibbon (Hylobates klossii)

Bat-Eared Fox (Otocyon megalotis)

Linne's Two-Toed Sloth (choloepus didactylus)

Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus)

Brazilian Tapir (Tapirus terrestris)

Chinchilla (Chinchilla lanigera)

Blue Winged Kookaburra (Dacelo leacii)

Palawan Peacock Pheasant (Polyplectron emphanum)

Spotted Eagle Owl (Bubo africanus)

Aldabran Tortoise (Geochelone gigantea)

Opening hours:

Open daily throughout the year from 10am (Closed Christmas day). We close at 5. 30pm during the summer season and close at 4pm during the winter season

(1st November - 4th March)

Admission Prices for 2005:

Adults £8

Children £4. 50 (3 - 14 years)

Senior Citizens £5. 50

Party rates available on application.
