Beatles memorabilia is always popular at auctions, and two recently discovered items are no exception.

A Christies Popular Culture auction will be selling a letter written by Paul McCartney inviting an unknown drummer to an audition in 1960. The letter, found at Bootle Car Boot Sale in Liverpool, has been valued at £7,000 to £9,000.

Also on sale at the auction will be a placard for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 'Bed-In for Peace', a simple piece of card with a hand-written note saying 'Bed Peace'. It is expected to raise a whopping £80,000 - £100,000 for the current owners, who were given the placard by a sound engineer who was present at the event in 1969.

The placard was placed on the window behind the famous pair during their seven-day protest at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal.
