Spectacular expansion plans to Birminghams' National Indoor Arena in the Midlands has been unveiled.

The NIA is one of Europe's busiest sporting and entertainment venues.

The multi-purpose building attracts visitors from all over the world with their events which include top comedians such as John Bishop, British Basketball League Championships, Torvill and Dean's Dancing On Ice, Strictly Come Dancing and music from chart toppers such as Example and Coldplay.

The NIA, which is regarded as the Midlands most foremost venue has released plans to modernise the building and taking full advantage of the canal side location by adding a new feature to the venue of an new entrance from Brindleyplace into the arena.

The facelift is set to improve both its pre and post-show experiences and give more opportunities for retail outlets who will also be taking advantage of the expansion plans.

The eagerly awaited work to revamp the NIA in Birmingham is scheduled to start towards the end of 2012.
