Harry Potter studio experience

British Harry Potter fans will have a chance to see sets from the eight films when a studio tour opens on Saturday.

At Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, the sets used for all eight films will be open for a studio tour on Saturday 31 March.

Eyebrows have been raised over the expensive items in the gift shop, though organisers have defended their prices, calling the memorabilia 'incredibly good quality'.

At £83 for a family of four, the studio tour isn't cheap. However the idea of the tour is to lift the air of mystery to show how much of the cinematic magic was achieved.

It has been said many a time that the Potter set designs are so intricate there are details missed on screen and now fans will get a chance to see them in person.

As with many attractions, visitors have to exit through the gift shop and its pricey items.

A Firebolt Quiddith broomstick will set you back £249, a reproduction of a ball gown worn by Hermione (Emma Watson) will cost £241 while a set of Prof. Dumbledore's robes will cost £495.

Josh Berger, managing director of Warner Bros UK, said: 'Like everything, there's the high end that is incredibly good quality. And it's expensive to make, and it's expensive to sell.

'But equally 25% of the merchandise is under £10 in the shop. So that is eminently acquirable for the families who come here.'
