Seven Bands Rockin For Our River

The second North Georgia Winter Jam and festival returns with an exciting twist to Grant Street Music Room/Habersham Event Center on Saturday February 20th 2016 starting at 3 pm.and brings an unprecedented all-star lineup of artists from across the Americana and rock music spectrum to the banks of the Soque River.Scorching guitars,outstanding vocal harmonies, and other varied instruments should make for a warm melodic glow in the midst of the Appalachian winter for this festival that will benefit the Soque River Watershed Association.

Grant Street Music Room has assembled an exhilarating lineup of award-winning artists to guide listeners on the road to spiritual enrichment:"Were glad to be able to showcase some great regional acts and some very talented local Americana and rock musicians to help keep our most valuable resource our river, clean and healthy," says Bob Fortin, co-producer of the event. With seven bands performing full sets over nine hours you're assured of getting your moneys worth with a variety of music.

This is also Grant Street Music Rooms 4th anniversary of providing entertainment and producing exciting themed events in our area."We want to bring world class musicians to Northeast Georgia, and provide some fun for music fans at affordable prices," says Beverly Gale, facility owner ."Our goal is to enrich the soul through music." Highland Brewery from Asheville N.C. will be on hand as a key sponsor offering a wide variety of products and will provide a Tap Takeover with special craft beers and giveaways.Try them all and select your new favorite. Expect an epic event with a great collection of talent under one roof all performing to raise awareness for the Soque River.

The festival will reach a feverish crescendo with Throb Dylan And The Rainy Day Women performing a well thought out set of inspired Bob Dylan classics and some surprises thrown in that will astound even the casual Dylan fan.Comprised of members of several area bands this new project shines with talented musicianship. Recent performances have garnered rave reviews and scores of new fans.

The Donna Hopkins Band and Ralph Roddenbery both regionally acclaimed will perform a progressive blending of blues,rock,country,bluegrass and funk.They have performed at venues all over the Southeast, winning accolades for memorable sets at major festivals like Floydfest (Virginia) and the Bear Creek Music Festival (Florida),Ralph Roddenberry soars with mesmerizing songwriting, inspired vocals, and creative hooks.The guitar wizardry of Donna Hopkins and her soul drenched vocals is a must see.

The lineup of bands also includes: local favorites and rising Americana stars Drunk On The Wind, Terratonic a Widespread Panic inspired jamband, Breathing Kansas providing a heavy 70s rock style influenced set sure to satisfy any serious music fan and if you crave Jazz infused live Hip Hop and fusion you will groove on The Social Engineers.

Doors will open to the Winter Jam at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 20 th, and the music starts at 3 pm.
