Parliament week is a national initiative which aims to involve and engage people across the country in understanding not just the history of UK parliament, but also its relevance to us in today's world.

With parliament getting such a negative reputation in our current economic climate, it's little wonder the nation have lost all interest in how important it really is to our country. Parliament week is a national initiative which aims to involve and engage people across the country in understanding not just the history of UK parliament, but also its relevance to us in today's world.

Events will be running through the week all over the country bringing together organisations, schools and individuals with events designed to inspire everyone from the very young to the very old. One such event is on 23rd November organised by UK Youth Parliament where its young members can debate on topics chosen by young people nationwide in the House of Commons chamber.

With Young People's Question Time, Discover Westminster Abbey & The Houses of Parliament, Leaders & Speechwriters and Chasing the Digital Wave, the week will be full of events designed to offer rare insights to the inner workings of your government. In turn it will hopefully raise awarenes of just how important parliament affects people's lives and encouraging people to engage with our democracy.

Parliament week have a wide range of partners up and down the country helping to make it a success, including arts and heritage groups, museums and citizenship organisations. To get involved, wither as a school, as an organisation or as an individual, visit the website for more information.
