PM defends Kate Middleton on outrageous comments

Outrageous comments about the Duchess of Cambridge from top novelist Hilary Mantel has sparked media fury. The author called Kate Middleton, 'painfully thin', a 'jointed doll on which certain rags are hung' and a 'shop window mannequin'.

A novelist has caused uproar by making rude and very hurtful comments about the Duchess of Cambridge.

The double Booker prize-winning author Hilary Mantel not only called Kate 'painfully thin and a 'shop window mannequin' but shealsosaid that the Duchess had 'no personality of her own' and called her 'plastic'.

Mantel's scathing remarks have caused media outrage and even the Prime Minister David Cameron has come to Kate's defense saying Hilary Mantel was 'completely wrong' to compare her with a 'shop-window mannequin'

He went on to say that Mantel 'writes good books' but 'what she's said about Kate Middleton is completely misguided'.

He also pointed out that we should be proud of the Duchess 'rather than make these misguided remarks.'

Mantel went on to say about the Duchess of Cambridge: 'Once she gets over being sick, the press will find that she is radiant. They will find that this young woman's life until now was nothing, her only point and purpose being to give birth.

'presumably Kate was designed to breed in some manners,' said the sharped tongued novelist.'

The 60 year old writer, who's latest books are set in the Tudor court, also compared the Duchess to her historical heroine Anne Boleyn and the late Princess Diana, saying that both had more personality.

Meanwhile Kate has been visiting an Addiction Charity in Clapham, London today. The Duchess, looking healthy and happy has been meeting and speaking to women who are in recovery from addiction.
