Retreat to Pembrokeshire for family-friendly wellbeing festival

A unique family friendly Festival of Wellness, high on 'feel good' factors. Set in a location guaranteed to make you say 'Wow!'. Plan your perfect weekend choosing from our eclectic mix of activities, classes & workshops or simply swing in a hammock with live music under Pembrokeshire open skies.

The independently minded Big Retreat Wales festival, set in the grounds of the former castle at Lawrenny and near to the Cleddau Estuary, has something for people of all ages.

Families can immerse themselves in yoga and Zumba, enjoy story time with a childrens author or indulge in a chocolate workshop, all in idyllic rural surroundings.

And as the sun goes down, the days will round off with music from some of the best new talent, in Wales.

Co-founder of The Big Retreat Wales, mum and fitness and wellbeing coach, Amber Lort-Phillips, was inspired to launch the event while on a morning run near her home in Lawrenny.

The landscape was simply stunning - Pembrokeshire at its best. The moment of the now was so strong I felt my diary clear and my nagging worries drain away. I was also struck by inspiration, she recalls.

I realised that this very location, and moments just like that, could be shared. The ability that this very special place has to inspire people who come here and to bring everything to the now could work its power on hundreds more like me.

Amber says wellbeing is for the whole family - children are never too young to start laying the foundations for good habits associated with taking care of themselves.

Whether thats through art, yoga or the spoken word, Big Retreat Wales will offer some fabulous shared family adventures, she says.

Families can connect with nature at the many workshops and classes.

We have brought together an eclectic mix of workshops, some are for health juicing, raw foods and life coaching - and some are for creativity -woodworking, making a guitar from recycled items, or an art class, Amber explains.

The festival site - Old Castle Terrace - is a big space and purpose-built to share. Its a great place of communion in exercise and rest, music and mindfulness, fireside chat and celebration of the here and now, says Amber.

Early bird tickets for the festival, which runs from May 25th 28th, are now on sale at www.thebigretreatwales.co.uk, priced at from 115 for Adults, 40 for Children 5-17 yrs and FREE for under 5's. This includes a tent pitch for three nights at the festival campsite,

The events and activities are included in the ticket price, although there will be some additional activities, such as kayaking on the Estuary, which can be booked and paid for separately.
