Sci-fi theme announced for North Yorkshire's biggest firework party. The movie themed event also announces Monsters Inc and Star Wars The Force Awakens as the two films to be shown on one of the UK's biggest mobile screens

The skyline above Castle Howard is set to explode in a stunning display of sci-fi themed fireworks as Kaboom www.kaboomyork.com returns to Yorkshires finest stately home on Saturday, October 29th with a display that promises to be out of this world.

The fully choreographed display combines state-of-the-art fireworks synchronized to a specially commissioned music track and an exclusive cinema screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to close the show. The galactic spectacular will transport visitors to galaxies far, far away as they enjoy the explosive pyrotechnic display, special effects and Star Wars cinema experience. This years sparkling show is inspired by the sights, sounds and thrills of science fiction special effects.

Recognised as one of the UKs top 10 firework displays Kaboom at Castle Howard is a celebration of the season combining the best of Halloween and Bonfire night. For younger children there will be a film screening of the Disney Pixar classic Monsters Inc ahead of the main firework display, as well as a traditional funfair, a Sparkler Park, live entertainment hosted by the Minster FM Breakfast Show presenters Ben & Ellie, fire jugglers, carnival performers, and the chance to tuck into traditional seasonal goodies.

Mark Brayshaw, managing director of York based Rockin Horse Promotions, organisers of the event, said, Theres something for everyone at Kaboom and we are looking forward to unleashing our pyrotechnic powers to present a firework show that translates the technicolor and drama associated with science fiction into the skies above Castle Howard.

On the ground therell be live performers to entertain, a traditional style fun-fair for junior thrill-seekers, as well as our cinema screenings of Monsters Inc and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As the epic Star Wars saga continues this year with the release of a new film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December and the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Kaboom is celebrating all things sci-fi.

Kaboom takes place on Saturday, October 29th 2016. Tickets are 15.00 for adults and 10.00 for children (aged 5 to 15). Under 4s free. Family tickets 35.00 for two adults and two children. Tickets must be purchased in advance via www.kaboomyork.com or www.castlehoward.co.uk and at the Visit York Information Centre, Museum Street, York. Free parking will be provided at the event and a dedicated Parent and Child Parking space can also be reserved. Dedicated transport from York city centre and from Malton to Castle Howard will also be available. Gates open 4.30pm. Fireworks start at 8.00pm.
