Snakes on a Plane Director found dead

According to his representative, David R. Ellis Director of the movie Snakes on a Plane, has been found dead at the age of 60 in a hotel bathroom in South Africa. Details surrounding his death are unclear and no cause of death has been released.



The Director of the American action thriller film 'Snakes on a Plane' starring Samuel L. Jackson, has been found dead in his hotel bathroom in South Africa.

David R. Ellis was in Johannesburg to work on the remake of an a Japanese anime movie 'Kite'


Born in Hollywood California, the director made his name in the screen debut of the 1975 Kurt Russell movie 'The Strongest Man in the world, a year later he switched to stunt work.

From there David R. Ellis moved onto being in charge of action sequences on films such as The Matrix Revolutions and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

The details surrounding the death of the 60-year-old are unclear and there has been no cause of death released.
