The Rolling Stones to play O2 London

The Rolling Stones look set to play two shows in London in November according to NME.com.



According to NME.com, The Rolling Stones long-time saxophonist has confirmed that the band will be playing two gigs in London in November.

Keith Richards also revealed on Monday (8 October) that The Rolling Stones have been booked to play four live shows in London and New York, although the bands guitarist didn't reveal the dates of these much anticipated live shows.

But now the saxophonist Bobby Keys spoke to BillBoard and confirmed that these rumours are true and will certainly take place in November, which was previously denied by the band.

He told Billboard.com that: '[The Rolling Stones] are gonna do some more concerts, starting in November with two in England and then a couple here in the States, then there's a few added concerts after that.'

The rumours surrounding The Rolling Stones playing Glastonbury next year are now looking bona fide, so ticket holders for the festival will be sitting pretty following this news.

Keith Richards also spoke to Q magazine and told them that they were playing some shows in London and in New York, but he had been told not to talk about them, telling the music magazine that 'They've put the gag on me on this'.

Billboard.com have confirmed that a source has confirmed that the UK shows will be at the prestigious O2 arena in London which will see the band celebrating their 50th year in the music business.

It has been said that Virgin owner Richard Branson and Paul Dainty an Australian Promoter will be promoting the shows with a source confirming that the band will be earning an excess of $25 million for the four shows.

This news comes after their new single 'Doom and Gloom' was released on iTunes earlier this week.
