Topless visitors barred from theme park

A theme park has said that they will not allow topless visitors into their attraction, and those that do inside will be asked to leave.

Southend on Sea's Adventure Island is to ban male visitors who are topless, despite the attraction holding the world record for the most amount of naked people riding a rollercoaster, the BBC has reported.

The park's managing director, Marc Miller has told the BBC that he wanted men to "show some decorum" and cover up before entering the popular attraction in Essex.

He continued, "In recent years we've seen increasing numbers of lads and men whipping their tops off, eager to make the most of the sun. That's absolutely fine in the right environment, but we try very hard to be a family-focused business and not everybody is a fan of bare chests."

Adventure Island entered the Guinness Book of Records in 2010 when 102 people went naked to ride the Green Scream rollercoaster at the park, raising more than £22,000 for charity - Southend Hospital's breast care unit.
