Taylor McFerrin | 30 Oct 2014 at Birthdays dalston, London - This Autumn, Soundcrash are proud to present Brooklyn-based producer, and newly signed Brainfeeder artist Taylor McFerrin, 30 October 2014 for a special intimate show with special support from Robinn, LIVE at Birthdays, London! After releasing his long awaited, debut full length LP, Early Riser in June this year on Flying Lotuss Brainfeeder record label, hes come back into the spotlight at the height of his creativity, with one of the most memorable releases in recent years Taylors musical style is equally influenced by the legends of 60s/70s Soul, the kings of the Modern Beat Generation, Golden Era Hip Hop, free form Jazz and Electronic music. By playing all of the instruments on his productions, while also relying heavily on sampling and chopping up his live takes, he has found a sound that seamlessly bridges myriad musical worlds and draws the listener into a constantly shifting audio soundscape. I spent years laying down tons of tracks, McFerrin explains, and I got into a really bad habit of never really finishing anything. So this last year the concept was let me go back and find all the stuff that really felt right, the stuff that felt like an honest moment of creation for me, and just force myself to finish those tracks

Breathe | 1 Nov 2014 at The North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford - Thought provoking and playful, Breathe looks at the complex, fundamental process of breathing through the lenses of science, medicine, and literature. Orlando Gough has developed Breathe through dialogue with staff and patients in the Churchill Hospital Respiratory Medicine department. Breathe forms part of the Breath Festival of talks and events which will take place on 1 November.

Cold Ocean Lies | 1 Nov 2014 at Oobleck Birmingham, Birmingham - Birmingham four piece Cold Ocean Lies release their debut single through indie label Killing Moon on 20th October 2014. To celebrate, the quartet will play their biggest headline show to date at The Oobleck Birmingham on Sat 1st November. The band, who have been together for 11 months are influenced by Smashing Pumpkins, Ride and Oasis and are making a splash in their hometown of Birmingham selling out their last headliners. Over the last few months, artists from Edinburgh Printmakers have produced artwork that portrays the concept of home as an ideological representation of self-definition, nostalgia and safety, signifying our position in society. Conversely, this exhibition also considers the social, psychological and political affects of being homeless. Exhibiting artists have engaged in dialogue with vendors from The Big Issue and have drawn inspiration from the high quality and deeply personal writings published in the Streetlights section of the magazine
