Steven William Bragg or 'Billy' is loved for his alternative rock style and edgy political activism.
His music is a mixture of folk, rock and punk, with lyrics often reflecting political unrest or more romantic themes. Billy's 30 years as a political activist have seen him become a staunch Thatcher/Tory opponent. He has been supporter of the Labour party and the causes of the socialist left and campaigned tirelessly for electoral reform. His musical collaborations have included the likes of Kate Nash, REM and The Smiths. He regularly contributed to The Tube back in the 80s. Along with Paul Weller and many more, Billy belonged to the 'Red Wedge', a musician's pressure group and hotbed for the creation of protest songs.
