Black Dahlia Murder is a heavy metal band from Waterford, Michigan in the US. The band began its formation during the late 2000, finalising the line-up in 2001. They took their name from a 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, who is often referred to as the Black Dahlia. The band who comprises of five members Trevor Strnad vocalist, Brian Eschbach and Ryan Knight the guitarists, bassist Ryan “Bart” Williams and the drummer Shannon Lucas. The band has released five studio albums, with four of them charting on the US Billboard with their latest album 'Ritual' reaching No.31. Their genre of music has been stated as metalcore, melodic death metal and deathcore. Their fifth studio album 'Ritual' was released in June 2011 which followed a European tour in May 2011 supporting Amon Amarth.
