Classical violinist, recording artist and, ahem, gorgeous creature David Garrett is off to the United Kingdom for a series of shows this 2012.
He started his romance with the violin at age four and won first prize in a competition just a year later- which does not come as a surprise that, at age eight, he was already playing with some of the world’s leading musicians and orchestras. With numerous awards under his belt and his current album, “Legacy,” having reached a “Gold Status,” he is truly the stuff legends are made of.
His music is like that of a fine, yet very potent impact that a chisel might make on certain stone commissions- carving new lines and textures and chipping away at oft-made stereotypes on classical artists. His talent has indeed been very instrumental in making new ways of listening to and appreciating classical music. He has made classical, contemporary, and rock music form new bonds that truly strengthen the adage that music knows no borders.
