A music icon of the mid-80's pop scene, English singer/songwriter Howard Jones rose to stardom with his catchy synth-pop tunes and meaningful lyrics which quickly crossed oceans to make him a chart topper not only in the UK, but in the US, also.
One of the main artists to represent the electronic/synth-pop/new wave genre, with MTV a significant factor in his huge success, Jones' songs still remain extremely popular, and with many generations of fans. By the early 1990's however, Jones had all but disappeared from the mainstream, though he still played infrequent shows and festivals. Jones then re-emerged in 2005 with a new album that, to the delight of fans everywhere, went back to his electronic roots. His latest album release, 2010's Ordinary Heroes, actually revisits Jones' short contemporary and acoustic era of the late 80's with a softer style and beautifully-written verses complimented by his distinguished, recognizable voice. Howard Jones is currently on tour in support his album Ordinary Heroes.
