Nick Lowe Tickets

A musical pioneer of the 70's, Nick Lowe is one of the more revered artists of his era, at least among those realizing his significance. With roots in country and blues-rock, Lowe is actually most famous for his songs, adopted by others and played as covers, including Cruel to Be Kind, written while in his first band, and (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding, which became a ground-breaking hit for Elvis Costello. His musical style graduating into the pub rock and punk rock categories, Lowe began writing and recording with Dave Edmonds before going on to prove himself as a producer. Lowe produced Elvis Costello's first five records, and the first album by The Damned, considered to be the first true English punk band. With many firsts to his credit, Lowe was always ahead of the mainstream, unwilling to get caught up in it. More recently, Lowe's recordings have diverted from his punk rock days, back to a mellower country and blues. A close friend of the late Johnny Cash (and formerly married to Cash's daughter, country singer Carlene Carter), Cash's influence is easy to hear in Lowe's work, diversifying his portfolio even more. Nick Lowe is currently on tour supporting his 2011 release, The Old Magic.
