Adapted from a book by Chris D'Arienzo, rock of ages is a rock musical show that is built around classic songs that are popular during the 80s.

The show features songs from a wide variety of glam metal bands of the decade including Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison, Europe, Styx and more. The show has a reputation for being more comical than many other top shows The story is about an aspiring rocker called drew Boley who works in a Hollywood bar as a bus boy. Boley falls in love with Sherrie Christian, a town girl who hopes to make it in acting in the sunset strip. Drew help Sherrie get employment in the bar, while she encourages him to pursue his rock music dreams. Drew and Sherrie begin to have feelings for each other. Drew's suggestion that his relationship with Sherrie is mere friendship ruins their first outing. Stacee Jaxx comes to the bar to perform and Sherrie gets attracted to him and mates with him. Drew gets a deal with a record producer with a performance while Sherrie gets fired and moves to the Venus club. Drew goes to the Venus club to confess his feeling for Sherrie but changed his mind when he finds her in an odd position with a drunken Stacee. Drew, after he abandons his record company becomes a pizza delivery boy. He realizes he doesn't need fame to please Sherrie so he goes after her and the two move to Glendale to start a family. The main characters in the rock of ages musical includes drew Dillenbeck; the hero, Sherrie Christian; his girlfriend, Lonny Barnett; the show's narrator, Stacee Jaxx; an established rock musician and Dennis Dupree the owner of the bourbon club where drew works. Rock of ages is currently showing at the Shaftsbury theatre, in London's west end, and regular tickets are available online ranging from ₤20 to ₤150 pounds. The costumes, languages and dances used in the show makes it not to be appropriate for kids under 14, but teenagers and adults will definitely find it interesting.
