The Black Keys are a band that have undergone quite a transformation since they emerged in 2001 from drummer Patrick Carney's basement with an album on an 8-track recorder.
That album, "The Big Come Up" showed the minimal yet powerful potential of a duo in a way that hadn't been seen since the White Stripes and a distinctive blues/rock sound that was unrivalled. Follow up albums, such as "Thickfreakness" gradually began to show the world what it was missing thanks to singles like "Have Love, Will Travel".By 2010, the band were far from being a music fan's favourite secret any longer, as album "Brothers" was blared out of stereos and MP3 players across the country and "Howlin' For You" sound-tracked adverts and movie trailers. With the edges polished and additional touring musician in tow, The Black Keys became the successful band they were destined to be. They have gone from supporting bands in small venues to headlining their own arena shows as one of the most anticipated American touring bands.
