Proudly hailing from Sheffield The Crookes formed in 2008 playing heart wrenching British indie rock drawing inspiration from 1950's and 1960's pop-music.

In 2009 The Crookes were named BBC 6 Music's favorite new band. They went on to record several live sets on BBC and firmly established a lasting relationship with super star disc jockey Steve Lamacq. Lamacq has described The Crookes as both his "favorite band of the year" and "one of the best bands in the U.K."Without exception their singles, EP's and two studio albums Chasing After Ghosts and Hold Fast have left the critics and fans raving about everything from The Crookes fearlessly off beat influences (one can hear a strong taste of both the Smiths and girl groups in The Crookes at points) to their fine lyricism that approaches poetry .What's next for The Crookes? Some wide touring which is already in the works. With this under their belt expect the Crookes to break hearts world wide!
