American 'Doo-wop'/R&B group 'The Drifters' have had many different incarnations since their formation in the early 1950s.
They are believed to have had, in total, 65 different members since 1953! The two most notable periods are perhaps 'The Original Drifters' formed by Clyde McPhatter and the second version formed by George Treadwell which featured Ben E King. Both incarnations have been separately inducted into the 'Vocal Group Hall of Fame'.
