American alternative pop punk band We the Kings formed in 2005 and hail from Bradenton, Florida. They released their self-titled debut album in 2007 and their sound was described as energetic and pleasing pop punk.
The album's hit songs include "Skyway Avenue" and "Stay Young" with catchy hooks, tight instrumentals, smooth vocals and honest lyrics. Most of their songs have signature soft verses turning into louder choruses. Their most popular song till date was from this album - "Check Yes Juliet". It has an unusual distinction for being in the Australian charts for 17 consecutive weeks and is still there three years since it was released.
With their second and third albums they have moved slightly towards a more mainstream pop sound without abandoning their punk roots and have achieved commercial success.
We the Kings have toured extensively in support of all of their three albums and will come to the UK this summer in support
of their most recent effort "Sunshine State of Mind".
