Manchester Central Convention Centre (formerly the GMEX and Manchester International Centre) is a stunning venue right in the heart of Manchester. Boasting a massive range of conference suites, halls, theaters and exhibition spaces this is a venue with a proud history of hosting a range of incredible events, from large-scale international conferences and high profile exhibitions to world famous musical and entertainment artists. The Manchester Central Convention Complex offers multiple flexible halls and conference suites with a vast exhibition space raging in size from 1,830m² to 11,000m² and capable of holding up to 9000 people, as well as hi-tech meeting facilities for up to 4000 people and a luxury 800 seat auditorium. Such versatility means Manchester Central is capable of hosting multiple events from national and international conferences to trade exhibitions, gala banquets, sports competitions and music concerts. Add to that the enviable location and ease of transport links and this is a popular venue, constantly in demand.

Although it has successfully hosted hundred of conferences and trade shows, from the Daily Telegraph Holiday Show to Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem Party political conferences it is of course the music events for which it is most famous. The Manchester Central Convention Centre has welcomed some incredible musical and entertainment acts in its time, both formerly when it was known as the GMEX and latterly under its new name. From the Factory Records Festival featuring The Smiths and New Order to the famous James concert in 1990; from U2’s Zoo Tour to Oasis, the GMEX has hosted some of Manchester (and the world’s) biggest bands. Recently it has carried on this tradition with concerts by artists such as Snow Patrol, Morrissey, the Verve, Marilyn Manson, Arctic Monkeys, Manic Street Preachers, Hard-Fi and Bloc Party, Placebo, Arcade Fire and Biffy Clyro. A truly iconic venue.
