John Bishop

Scouse comedian John Bishop was named best newcomer by BBC Radio Merseyside, winning the North West Comedy award for best stand-up in 2004. Since then he has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. His material is drawn mainly from life's experiences, from being a father to cycling around the globe, to playing semi-pro football and working as a night club bouncer. DetailsVarieties Music Hall, Leeds, 6 Jun 2013

Boyce Avenue

Boyce Avenue is one of the coolest bands right now who's known for their amazing gift to sing cover songs nearly better than the original. They have performed and collaborated with vocalists like Kina Grannis, DeStorm, the Jabbawockeez, among many others. Their music is truly amazing, but what sets them apart is their overall sound that makes them sound so original despite the fact that they're singing covers. DetailsVarieties Music Hall, Leeds, 23 Sep 2013

Paul Foot

British stand-up comedian Paul Foot received critical acclaim following The Guild of Connoisseurs. 'A comedy genius' according to The Independent and The Age, he has be likened to a 'rare exotic bird' by The Daily Express, whatever that means! Based in Buckinghamshire, Paul regularly performs live as resident at various London comedy clubs, and has won both the BBC New Stand-up Award and the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award. DetailsVarieties Music Hall, Leeds, 3 Oct 2013

The Feeling

The Feeling are a critically acclaimed English band that have been playing heart warming pop since 2005. Life long friends who attended Catholic High School together in West Sussex they've developed a chemistry that carries through their music that's simply nothing but contagious. Praised in particular for their "fantastic" song writing (check out their debut album Twelve Stops and Home and you'll likely agree) The Feeling don't have the cookie cutter feel of lesser pop acts. DetailsVarieties Music Hall, Leeds, 27 Oct 2013

10 must-have books for British tourists

Each year millions of tourists step foot onto British soil to experience the culture and history of this beautiful land. BritEvents brings you our list of ten must-have books for tourists to Britain.

Britain's Top 10 Tourist Attractions

It's no surprise that most of the top 10 visitor attractions in Britain are in our capital city, London. However, with Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers bucking the trend, there's much to be seen outside of London. Why not take a look.

Great British food festivals

The French may think that we're just a nation of 'les rosbifs', but ask any Brit what they think of our cuisine and they'll tell you that we're a world-leader in high quality food. To celebrate and bring together the diversity of cuisine in Britain, food festivals are popping up all across the country. It's enough to make those Gallic chefs choke on their snails.

Top 10 historic British museum ships

It was once said that Britain ruled the waves, and that's no surprise given the amount of time and money that was dedicated to building the world's greatest fleet of ships. Some of these ships still survive, and BritEvents takes a look at what we think are the top ten historic ships, now open to the public.
