Welsh rock band Stereophonics stormed onto the rock scene in 1992 with a sound that's been described as being akin to the genres of alt-rock and British traditional rock. Their debut album Word Gets Round was released back in 1997, instantly charting at number six in the UK. Reaching mainstream prominence after they released the song Performance and Cocktails in 1999, the band have been praised by critics and fans alike for their incredible live performances, and have headlined many of Britain's top music festivals, including Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury, V Festival and the Isle of Wight Festival.
