Woburn Safari Park, Saturday, 03 March 2012 - Sunday, 04 March 2012

Woburn Safari Park Craft Food and Gift Fair: Woburn Safari Park, Woburn Park

The E+M Glass Road show takes the live glass making experience on the road, bringing glass artistry to the wild life for the weekend at Woburn wildlife park. All the animals can quite literally be a windscreen's width away from you! as you journey into the heart of the animal's territories in the Reserves of Rhino, Antelopes, Giraffes, Buffalo and Zebras. It's an experience not to be missed. I believe you will love it and if the sun comes out it would be easy to imagine you have left the country for a few hours. You could lap the park several times.

The road show uses unique glass making equipment to recreate a working glass studio in the wild life park. We will take you through the basic principles of glass blowing with live demonstrations aided with our mobile 1100 degree furnace of molten glass. The demonstration take place every hour on the hour. Throughout the day we will take you through the history of glass blowing. Beginning with recreating a Roman amphora using tools and skills that has remained unchanged since that period in history. Another fascinating demonstration will be the recreation of a 17th century wine glass, using techniques that had been lost since the end of industrial revolution. All the glass art we create will be on display and is for sale with unique items ranging from £1 to £1200 for thought provoking glass ensembles.
