Astonishingly, Reading Festival has been rocking the UK since 1961. It's a three day festival held simultaneously with the Leeds festival during the August bank holiday weekend. Both festivals share a bill on a rotating schedule, so seeing one is almost like being at both. Each day showcases some of the best bands on the airways, such as Foo Fighters, Enter Shikari, Young Guns, The Cure, Kasabian and many more. This festival isn't just about music: some of the most famous comedians in the country also perform.This is a music fan's festival. People young and old alike come here to listen to their favorite music live and let off steam. Organizers set more trends than they follow. They don't just show one type of music. They gather styles of music the world over and set them down in one place, even if they normally wouldn't be heard together. Popularity follows it like a homing missile. Even the Conservative attempt to ban it in the mid 80's failed; the year it came back showed a record attendance.As the oldest popular music festival still around, the Reading Festival has seen a lot and grown even more.
