Woburn Safari Park: You drive your own vehicle (no alternative transport available) through the Animal Reserves as often as you wish during the day. The animals roam free, which gives you an excellent opportunity to view them at close quarters.
The animals in the Reserves are : Rhino, Eland, Scimitar Horned Oryx (Antelope), Sitatunga (Antelope), Lechwe (Antelope), Gemsbok (Antelope), Giraffe, Ankole, Zebra, Elephant, Camel, Bison, Ostrich, Bongo (Antelope), Lion, Tiger, Wolves, Black Bear, Grass and Colobus Monkeys, Barbary Apes, Patas Monkeys and Hippos.
The animals can quite literally be a windscreens width away from you!
From 13th March 2004 we are open from 10am and last entry into the Park is at 5pm. Last entry to the Animal Reserves is at 5pm (5.30pm during high season) and the Leisure Area closes at 6pm (6.30pm during high season). The opening times may be affected by bad weather or failing light. Please note that the Park may not be open in bad weather (snow, fog or ice). Guests should phone before setting off if in doubt.
Besides the national award winning Safari Park, the Woburn Park Estate comprises other major tourist attractions:
Woburn Abbey
Woburn Abbey is the heart of the Woburn Estate and has been home of the Earls and Dukes of Bedford for over 375 years.
Golf and Country Club
Woburn Golf and Country Club was established as recently as 1976 with its three courses aptly named, The Dukes, Duchess and Marquess.
Deer Park
Before 1914 the collection of deer at Woburn was without doubt the largest and most unique ever brought together, from the standpoint both of numbers and variety of species.
Woburn Village
The nearby largely unspoiled village of Woburn has needless to say a long association with the Woburn Estate.
