Taste and learn about French vs New World wines comparing side by side and BLIND! Taste 13 wines including Champagne and a delicious two-cou
No previous experience necessary!
Beginning with Champagne, watch us open the bottle by 'sabrage' (using a sabre)!
At Cambridge Wine School we host our Saturday Wine Courses in the beautiful surrounds of Gonville & Caius college. It's one of the oldest university colleges in Cambridge (founded in 1348) and Professor Stephen Hawking is a fellow.
Half way through the day we take a break from the hard work of wine tasting to enjoy a delicious two-course lunch.
This fascinating course is a great introduction to wine comparing the classic wine regions of France directly with the best the New World can offer using the same grapes!
COURSE OUTLINE
- Burgundy vs New World (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir)
- Bordeaux vs New World (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot blends)
- Rhone vs New World (Grenache & Shiraz)
- Loire & Alsace vs New World (Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling)
- How to taste wines like a professional - aroma, flavours, describing wines
- Recognising elements of wine (tannin, acidity, oak)
All our courses can be purchased as a gift and our Gift Vouchers NEVER EXPIRE (see the gift voucher section in our website menu). You can either purchase a specific date and then email asking for a voucher or buy an undated voucher (so the recipient can choose from our wide range of dates). The perfect birthday or Christmas gift.
