A fun eight-part evening class held in central Cambridge leading to a multiple choice exam and a qualification for your CV.
Cambridgeshire Wine School offers the WSET Level 2 course as an eight-part wine course on Monday nights (7-9.30pm).You can begin at Level 2 (you don't need to complete Level 1 first).
It's an ideal introduction to wine teaching about wine making, key grape varieties and major wine producing regions of the world.
It is key vocational training for those employed in the drinks industry who have little previous knowledge of the broad range of alcoholic beverages available.
It is ALSO appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry who wish to study using a structured curriculum and formal assessment. It finishes with a 50-question multiple choice exam. Many of our students pass with merit or distinction.
No previous experience of Wine Tasting is necessary to register on this course.
Starts Mon evening 4th April and ends Mon evening 23rd May.
Recommended Private Study : 12 hours additional private study is recommended for this course.
COURSE SYNOPSIS
Wine Tasting :Taste and describe wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine Service and Storage Labelling : Learn how to decode and understand labels Factors influencing the Style of Wine Key Grape varieties Key Wine-Producing regions of the World: Number of Wines Tasted: 28-35 Study Materials : Students will receive a complete WSET Level 2 course study pack, comprising the course book (a comprehensive guide to the wines of the world 'Behind the Label'), a study guide (complete with maps, example questions and forms for your own tasting notes), course specification and laminated 'Systematic Approach To Tasting' card Duration of course : 8 weekly evening sessions including the 1 hour multiple choice examination Examination : 50 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 1 hour. A mark of 55% required to pass Certification : All students who pass will be issued with a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin.
