The Boat Museum

The Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port, Merseyside, CH654FW

The Boat Museum: At The Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port we bring Britains canal history back to life. Come and explore the exhibitions in the historic dock complex and experience life aboard our collection of canal and river craft. The Boat Museum site covers over 7 acres of the historic canal port.

Travel on Centaur, a purpose built all weather passenger boat with a live commentary which tells you about the boats, industries and people from this 200 year old canal port.

Due to the nature of the historical dock complex parts of the pathways around the site are cobbled and uneven. Wheelchair access is possible to the main exhibition displays and an accessible route is displayed on the site map given to all visitors.
