Cholmondeley Castle Gardens: Extensive ornamental gardens dominated by romantic Gothic Castle, built in 1801 of local sandstone. Beautiful Temple Water Garden, Rose Garden and many mixed borders.

Lakeside picnic area, children's play areas, rare breeds of farm animals, including llamas, children's corner with rabbits, chickens and free flying aviary birds. Private Chapel in the park (this can be visited by car as it is some distance from the gardens). Gift Shop and Tea Room. Plants for Sale.

Open: 25th March - 25th September 2005

Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 11. 30am - 5. 00pm.

Admission: Adults £4. 00 Children £1. 50

Castle not open to the public except by prior arrangement.

Location: Off A49 Whitchurch/Tarporley Road

During the summer months various events take place in the garden, the most important and spectacular is the Music and Firework Concert, which takes place in July.

Band concerts take place on the croquet lawn in front of the castle and Jazz quartets play for visitor's entertainment in the beautiful and tranquil Temple Garden.

The Rain or Shine Theatre Company has performed two years running providing hilarious entertainment with their restoration comedies.

Other events include Classic Car Rallies and Rare Plant Fairs.
