Cross Bay Walk - CancerHelp Family Events

CancerHelp's Cross Bay Walk Sunday 20th August 3.15pm Perfect for an active day out for all the family (children aged 7+ a

The Walk
Never attempt to cross the bay without a respected local guide. Organised walks across Morecambe Bay are internationally famous and are a safe way of experiencing a true wilderness. The Bay presents a number of well documented hazards and it is essential that walkers seek the assistance of the established guide to walk across the largest intertidal area in the UK.
Cedric Robinson MBE knows the Bay well and knows where you can / can’t walk safely. Cedric became the 25th Guide in 1963 so has a tremendous amount of experience traversing the Bay. The walk starts with Cedric at Ashmeadow at the far end of the promenade car park. Please make sure you register before 3.30pm as Cedric will not wait!
The last part of the walk involves crossing gullies on the saltmarsh. These can be quite wide and slippery, so walkers need to be agile enough to get across. The walks usually end in Kent’s Bank, a mile and a half from Grange-over-Sands.

The walk is between 7/8 miles long and suitable for children age 7+ and for dogs.
