Peak Cavern, Castleton, Derbyshire, S338WS

Peak Cavern: Enter the inner world of the underground cave system in the heart of the Peak District National Park and absorb the atmosphere as a watery silence echoes all around you.

Peak Cavern is in the centre of the village, right underneath Peveril Castle, and has largest natural cave entrance in Britain and the second largest in the world! Rope was made in this cave system, the damp atmosphere being a favourable environment for rope making
